The Children’s Clinic of Southwest Louisiana offers telehealth visits for our established pediatric patients. Our pediatricians and mid-level providers are available specifically for telehealth visits at various times with the capability to access the patient’s complete medical history.

Telehealth allows us to provide evaluations for minor illnesses and rashes, follow up care for ADHD, and guidance for chronic illnesses like diabetes, asthma, anxiety and depression. A diagnosis of flu, strep throat, pneumonia or ear infections must be done through an in-office evaluation.

The Children’s Clinic’s pediatric counselor is also available through telehealth for childhood and family counseling.

Most insurances cover telehealth visits, including Medicaid.

The Children’s Clinic recommends finding a quiet place at home with good wi-fi connectivity. Parents will need to use a computer, tablet or phone equipped with a camera. Take the child’s temperature and weigh them if possible, prior to the telehealth visit. Have the child or teen present during the call so the pediatrician can see them for the evaluation.

To see if a telehealth visit is appropriate, or for any questions, call the Children’s Clinic at (337) 478-6480. Once you have an appointment scheduled click on your provider’s link 5 minutes prior to your appointment time.
